Car Rentals in Turks and Caicos - Explore the Islands on Your Own Terms

Locally Owned Since 2012 · From $50/Day · Free Airport Pickup at PLS · No Hidden Fees

SNE Car Rentals has been the locally owned alternative to overpriced taxis and impersonal international chains since 2012. We are not a franchise. We are not a licensed brand name plastered over a local operation. We are a genuine Providenciales-based company, run by people who live on this island, know every road and shortcut, and genuinely care about making your trip as good as it can be. When you book car rentals in Turks and Caicos with SNE, you are booking with a neighbor – and that difference shows in every interaction.

The #1 Reason Visitors Book a Car Rental in Turks and Caicos

Let’s cut straight to it: Turks and Caicos has no public buses, no trains, no trams – nothing. Zero. The only way to get around the island without your own set of wheels is to rely on taxis, and taxis here are expensive. A single short trip between Providenciales International Airport and Grace Bay Beach costs $25 to $35 each way. A return trip to the airport at the end of your vacation? Another $30. By day three, you have already spent more on taxis than a week’s car rental would have cost you.

That math is why the vast majority of visitors to Providenciales – families, couples, solo travelers, and groups alike – book a car rental in Turks and Caicos the moment their flights are confirmed. Not because they have to, but because it is so obviously the better choice. Your own car means you wake up when you want, drive where you want, stop wherever something catches your eye, and never once have to stand on the side of Leeward Highway hoping a cab comes along.

Car Rental Rates in Turks and Caicos - What You Actually Pay

One of the biggest frustrations visitors face when searching for car rentals in Turks and Caicos is misleading pricing. You see a rate of $30 or $35 per day advertised on an international comparison website, click through excited, and by the time insurance, taxes, and mystery fees are added at checkout, the price has almost doubled. It is a widespread problem with third-party booking platforms, and it costs travelers real money.

SNE Car Rentals does not do that. The rate you see on our website is the rate you pay at pickup. Full stop.

Car rental rates in Turks and Caicos start at around $50 per day when all mandatory taxes and fees are included – and quotes that advertise much lower rates are usually deceptive, as the rates displayed do not include taxes and insurance. At SNE, our pricing is all-inclusive by default.

Every rate includes: Unlimited mileage · Basic insurance · Free airport pickup at PLS · Air conditioning · Automatic transmission

Optional add-ons: Child seat ($5/day) · Additional driver ($5/day) · GPS navigation

Weekly discount: Renting for 7+ days? Contact us for a discounted weekly rate. Most week-long rentals work out significantly cheaper per day than daily bookings.

📌 A government tax of $15 per rental is applied at checkout as required by Turks and Caicos law. This is the only charge you will see that is not listed in the daily rate – and we tell you about it upfront, unlike some competitors.

Our Car Rental Fleet in Turks and Caicos - 40+ Vehicles Ready for the Island

Turks and Caicos has no public transportation system – no buses, no trains, no trams. Taxis are available but expensive, with even short trips between Grace Bay and the airport costing $25 to $35 one way. For most visitors, renting a car is the smartest, most affordable, and most convenient way to explore Providenciales during your stay.

With your own rental car, you have the freedom to explore the island on your own schedule. Drive to Grace Bay Beach in the morning, grab lunch at a local restaurant in Blue Hills, spend the afternoon at Chalk Sound National Park, and watch the sunset at Sapodilla Bay – all without worrying about taxi availability or meter charges. A single day’s car rental often costs less than two taxi rides.

SNE Car Rentals is a locally owned and operated car rental company based in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. We have been proudly serving visitors and residents since 2012 – that is 14 years of experience helping thousands of travelers navigate the island safely, affordably, and comfortably. Unlike international rental chains that operate through franchise licensees, we are a genuine local business. Our team lives on the island, knows every road and shortcut, and treats every customer like family.

Our mission is simple: to provide the best car rentals in Turks and Caicos at honest, transparent prices with no hidden fees. From the moment you land at Providenciales International Airport (PLS), we handle everything – your rental car is ready, your paperwork is quick, and you are on the road within minutes. That is the SNE difference, and it is why visitors keep coming back year after year.

The right rental car makes a real difference to your Turks and Caicos experience. Pick something too small and you are squeezing luggage onto laps. Pick something too large and you are burning extra money on fuel for a car you did not need. Our team knows the island and we are happy to help you choose – but here is a quick guide to match your group to the right vehicle from our fleet.

Economy & Compact Cars – Best for Couples and Budget Travelers

Our Toyota Vitz and Suzuki Swift hatchbacks are the most popular cars in the SNE fleet, and for good reason. They are fuel-efficient, easy to park at beach access points, quick off the mark at roundabouts, and start at just $50 per day. The roads on Providenciales are well-maintained and compact – you do not need a large engine to get anywhere. For two people with a couple of suitcases and a beach bag, an economy hatchback is genuinely the ideal choice. You will spend almost nothing on fuel and have zero trouble finding a parking spot anywhere on the island.

Sedans – Best for Small Families or Those Wanting More Comfort

If you want a little more legroom and boot space without jumping up to SUV pricing, our compact and full-size sedan range hits the sweet spot. The Honda Fit and Nissan Latio comfortably carry five adults with luggage starting at $56/day, while the Nissan Bluebird gives you a proper full-size experience from $70/day. Great choice for a family of four who like to travel a bit more comfortably and have more gear to carry.

SUVs – Best for Families, Groups, and Adventurous Travelers

SUVs are the second most booked vehicle category for car rentals in Turks and Caicos, and it is not hard to see why. You get the elevated driving position, the extra boot space for beach chairs, snorkeling gear, shopping bags, and suitcases, plus the comfort for longer drives across the island. Our compact Nissan Dualis starts at $90/day and is perfect for a family of four. Step up to the Nissan X-Trail or Murano from $115/day and you have room for five to seven passengers in genuine comfort.

If you are planning to explore any of the rougher tracks on the western coast of Providenciales – particularly the route down to Malcolm’s Road Beach or West Harbour Bluff – an SUV with decent ground clearance is a smart call. You do not need a dedicated 4×4, but a mid-size SUV keeps you comfortable on the uneven surfaces.

Minivans & 7-Seater Vans – Best for Families and Groups

Traveling with a large family or a group of friends? Our Toyota Noah and Nissan Serena 7-seaters start at $115/day and are the most practical option you can book for a group trip to Turks and Caicos. Bags go in the back, people spread out across three rows, and everyone arrives at Grace Bay Beach without the crammed-in feeling that ruins the start of a beach day. For groups of eight or more, our Toyota Alphard full-size van from $150/day handles the job comfortably.

Luxury Vehicles – Best for a Premium Island Experience

If you are here to celebrate something – an anniversary, a honeymoon, a milestone birthday – or you simply prefer to travel at the top end, our Ford Expedition luxury SUV delivers that experience from $190/day. Eight-passenger capacity, premium interior, powerful engine, and the kind of presence on the road that matches the quality of the resorts and restaurants you are visiting. One of the best ways to arrive at Amanyara or the Grace Bay Club.

Free Airport Pickup for Every Car Rental in Turks and Caicos

This is one of the biggest things that sets SNE apart – and it is genuinely free, not a marketing trick.

When you book car rentals in Turks and Caicos with SNE, we coordinate your pickup around your actual flight arrival time. For most visitors, renting a car for the duration of their stay and picking up and dropping off at Providenciales International Airport is the easiest and least expensive way to get around. We have made that experience as smooth as it can possibly be.

Here is exactly what happens: Your flight lands at Providenciales International Airport (PLS). You clear immigration, collect your luggage, and walk out of the arrivals terminal. One of the SNE team is standing there with a sign showing your name. We walk you to the parking area right there at the airport – no shuttle bus, no off-site location, no waiting in a queue. Paperwork takes about five minutes. Then you have the keys, you are in the car, and you are on Leeward Highway heading toward Grace Bay in under 15 minutes of walking out of arrivals.

At the end of your stay, drop-off is just as painless. Drive back to the airport, pull into the lot, our team meets you, does a quick vehicle check, and you walk straight into departures. Done. No extra charges, no stress.

We also offer free delivery to any hotel, resort, villa, or Airbnb anywhere on Providenciales. Staying at the Seven Stars? The Palms? A private villa in Turtle Tail? We will bring the car to you.

Why SNE Beats Every Other Car Rental in Turks and Caicos

There are several car rental companies on Providenciales. So why do so many visitors choose SNE – and why do so many of them come back and book with us again on their next trip?

We Are Actually Local

Rental companies that appear to be major recognized US car rental brands are typically international independent licensees – local companies that have a license to use the brand name. In a dispute over charges, the corporate head office will not help you. You are dealing with a local operator wearing a global brand’s uniform. SNE is not like that. We are 100% locally owned, we have one brand, one name, and full accountability. If something goes wrong, you call us and we sort it – because this is our business and our reputation on the island.

Transparent Pricing – No Sand Fees, No Surprise Charges

Some car rental companies in Turks and Caicos charge “excessive sand cleaning fees” when you return the car – and what counts as excessive sand is entirely up to them. It is one of the most common complaints visitors leave in negative reviews. SNE does not do this. You are renting a car in a beach destination. Some sand is expected. We do not penalize you for going to the beach.

24/7 Roadside Assistance

Something goes wrong on the road – flat tyre, dead battery, locked out – you call SNE and we come to you. Our roadside assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to every customer. It has never cost a customer extra. It is just part of what renting from a company that genuinely cares looks like.

Fast, No-Queue Check-In

Wait times at some agencies can run 20 to 30 minutes. At SNE, your check-in happens at the arrivals area with your dedicated team member. No counter queue, no waiting for a printer, no being shuffled to a desk behind six other rental groups. We are ready for you when you land because we have your flight details and we track your arrival. Five minutes and you are on your way.

Clean, Well-Maintained Vehicles

Every SNE vehicle is professionally cleaned and mechanically serviced before it goes out with a new customer. We do not send out a car that has not been inspected. When you sit in an SNE vehicle, it is clean, the air conditioning works, the tyres are properly inflated, and the tank is full. That is the minimum standard we hold ourselves to – every single time.

Child Seats Available

Traveling with young children? We provide both rear-facing infant seats and forward-facing booster seats for $5 per day each. Just tell us the ages and number of children when you book and we will have the right seats installed before pickup. Safety for your little ones is not an afterthought at SNE – it is part of the booking process.

Driving in Turks and Caicos - Everything You Need to Know

First time driving in Turks and Caicos? You are going to be absolutely fine. Here is what you need to know before you pull out of the airport parking lot.

Left-Hand Traffic, Left-Hand Steering Wheel

Turks and Caicos drives on the left – the same as the UK, Australia, and most Caribbean nations. For North American visitors, that can sound intimidating. But here is the thing most people do not realize until they arrive: every car in the SNE fleet has a left-hand steering wheel, the same as cars in the United States and Canada. So while you are in the left lane, the car controls are completely familiar. Most of our customers are fully comfortable within the first five minutes of driving.

Roundabouts, Not Traffic Lights

There are no traffic lights anywhere on Providenciales. Every intersection is either a roundabout or a stop sign. Roundabouts in Turks and Caicos flow clockwise, and you give way to any traffic already in the roundabout from your right. There is just one main roundabout on the entire island – at the junction of Leeward Highway and Grace Bay Road – so you will get used to it quickly.

Speed Limits

  • Town and residential areas: 20 mph
  • Leeward Highway (main road): 40 mph
  • Near schools and playgrounds: Reduce to 15 mph; watch for speed bumps

Speed bumps appear frequently near residential areas and schools. They are not always well-signposted, so drive attentively, especially when you leave the main highway.

Road Conditions

The main roads on Providenciales – Leeward Highway and Grace Bay Road – are well-paved and easy to drive in any vehicle. Secondary roads to most beaches and attractions are also paved and perfectly manageable in a standard sedan or compact SUV. Most roads on Providenciales are paved, so you do not need a 4×4 to get around. The only exception is the far western coast tracks toward Malcolm’s Road Beach or West Harbour Bluff, where a mid-size SUV with some ground clearance is a good idea.

Fuel

Fuel prices average around $6.50 per gallon on Providenciales (2026 price), but driving distances are typically short, so fuel consumption is typically far less than what you might experience in other destinations. Every SNE rental car comes with a full tank. There are several petrol stations conveniently located on the island – you will not have any trouble finding one. All SNE vehicles run on regular unleaded.

Parking

Parking in Turks and Caicos is free and easy at almost every location – beaches, restaurants, shopping centres, and attractions all have free parking. There are no pay-and-display machines, no parking meters, and no ticketing. Just pull into the lot, or park on the roadside where it is safe to do so, and you are good.

Your Driver’s License

You need your physical driver’s license with you every time you drive. A photo on your phone is not acceptable. Licenses from the US, Canada, the UK, and most European and Caribbean countries are accepted in Turks and Caicos without an International Driving Permit. Keep it in your wallet every day – not in the room safe.

Car Rentals in Turks and Caicos - Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a car in Turks and Caicos?

Car rentals in Turks and Caicos start at $50 per day for economy hatchbacks like the Toyota Vitz and Suzuki Swift. Mid-size SUVs start at $115/day, and full-size luxury vehicles like the Ford Expedition start at $190/day. All SNE rates include unlimited mileage, basic insurance, and free airport pickup. A government tax of $15 per rental applies at checkout. There are no sand fees, no cleaning penalties, and no hidden charges.

Yes – for almost every visitor. Turks and Caicos has no public transportation at all, and taxis cost $25 to $35 per one-way trip. A single day’s car rental often costs the same as two taxi rides. If you plan to visit more than one beach, explore beyond your resort, or eat at local restaurants off Grace Bay Road, a rental car pays for itself immediately and gives you total freedom to enjoy the island your way.

For most visitors, yes. The only situation where you might manage without one is if you are staying in the central Grace Bay area and plan to spend your entire trip within walking distance of your hotel, eating only at Grace Bay restaurants and not visiting any other beaches. For everyone else – especially families, groups, and anyone wanting to see the real Providenciales – a rental car is essential.

You need your physical driver’s license from your home country (not a digital copy), a minimum age of 21, and a credit or debit card for the security deposit. Licenses from the US, Canada, the UK, and most of Europe are accepted without an International Driving Permit. Some companies require you to be 25 – SNE accepts drivers from age 21.

Yes. Traffic in Turks and Caicos flows on the left side of the road. However, all SNE vehicles have left-hand steering wheels – the same layout as cars in the US and Canada – so the car itself feels immediately familiar. Roundabouts flow clockwise. Most North American visitors adapt to left-lane driving within minutes.

No. There are no buses, trains, trams, or public shuttles in Turks and Caicos. Transportation options are limited to taxis, private transfers, or renting your own car. For multi-day visits, car rentals in Turks and Caicos are by far the most affordable and practical option.

Yes. SNE Car Rentals accepts both credit cards and debit cards. A security deposit hold is placed on your card at pickup and released when you return the vehicle in good condition. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Strongly recommended, especially if you are visiting between mid-December and mid-April (high season). Demand for SUVs and 7-seater vans in particular outpaces supply during peak periods. Booking in advance guarantees your vehicle at the best rate. SNE does accommodate same-day and last-minute rentals when availability allows, but the earlier you book, the better your options and pricing.
